AI really is everywhere: Google’s Asset Studio, TikTok’s GMV Max, and X’s Grok

At this point, company meetings must be like: “So… more AI?”

They’re all at it: Google’s Asset Studio is now in beta, so you may find it tucked under the Ads Tools tab.

It lets you generate and personalize images with Google AI, then manage everything in one hub. Kind of like Canva, but fully integrated into Google’s ad stack.

Use it, now: TikTok, on the other hand, isn’t offering much choice.

Starting September 1, Shop advertisers will be forced onto GMV Max, its AI budget optimizer.

The tool automatically reallocates spend, spins up new ads, and pushes existing ones harder. Sounds like our high school gym teacher…

Smaller sellers seem to be welcoming the ROI Protection fallback, but bigger brands say it’s a black box that makes it harder to know what’s actually driving results.

Last ditch resort? Over on X, Elon Musk is betting Grok can salvage ad revenues.

The AI chatbot is being trained to polish creatives, personalize targeting, and eventually handle campaign builds end-to-end.

Elon says it’s the cure for X’s ad slump… but brand safety concerns and his own reputation may hold adoption back.

Either way, these major platforms are pushing AI hard. If you want to advertise on them, keeping your robot wits about you is probably wise.

Great ad business. Shame about the ads. Impressions without intentions: Agencies testing ChatGPT Ads are getting clicks that go nowhere. One reported a 0.6% CTR against a usual 2%, at roughly $7 per click. Worse, platform click counts aren’t matching Google Analytics. Add UTMs, and treat any spend as research budget. Fair warning: geotargeting, custom…

Not great for publishers. Nor SEOs. Meanwhile, in…
