What will users engage with in 2026? Plus a new system that ranks your TikTok Shop

TikTok may not be able to predict the weather.

…But it may predict what users want to see this year.

And it anticipates some major shifts: The TikTok Next report recommends you focus on authenticity and staying niche over going broad, as users will turn to the platform for discovery.

It shows how TikTok’s search insights help you find shoppers in unexpected places, citing Duracell, which discovered that K-pop fans needed batteries to power glowing sticks.

The report is full of such brand case studies and includes hashtag recommendations and actionable breakdowns for each trend. So take a look.

But make sure you’re staying compliant: Starting February 2026, TikTok Shop is replacing its Milestone System for an Account Health Rating that scores UK sellers from 0-1,000.

Your score is based on fulfillment performance, policy compliance, and listing quality. If you drop below certain thresholds, you’ll face withdrawal holds or even account deactivation.

Ignoring this could cost you your revenue or your entire shop. Ouch.

A preview window starts January 19, so you can see where you stand before the new system goes live.
