Good morning.
This is us, signing off for the weekend, and for the last time as a daily newsletter.
Starting Monday, you’ll find us in your inbox three times a week: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. If anything, seeing us less often just means you’ll miss us more.
See you Monday!
Reddit is beating Wikipedia in AI citations, and your website content needs to catch up

Turns out, AI won’t just throw itself at whatever.
They have a type: Across 500+ intercepted browsing sessions, Reddit appeared as a cited source 23% of the time. More than Wikipedia and GitHub combined.
AI deliberately reformulates queries to include “Reddit” 31% of the time, as it’s hunting for authentic, experience-based opinions over vendor copy.
One SaaS founder found their Reddit comments getting cited by AI more than their actual website. Some would say it’s fluke, but we’d say that’s an algorithm.
This is both a threat and an opening. If your competitors are active in relevant subreddits and you’re not, AI is already routing around you.
But if you show up genuinely by answering questions, sharing real data, and contributing to discussions, your comments become citable assets.
Even if AI can access your site, that doesn’t mean it’ll cite you: A 200+ site audit across 10 industries found that most pages score fine on structure and extractability but collapse on authority and freshness.
Median authority score? 48 out of 100. Median freshness score? 45. Those two gaps explain everything:
- No freshness signals: Missing on 114 of 163 audited sites
- No citations or outbound references: Appeared on just 13
Industries most at risk include travel, legal, and job boards, as they rely heavily on discovery traffic and informational content that AI can easily compress into a single answer.
The audit identified three failure modes: AI can’t access your content, AI can read it but won’t cite it, or AI cites it but summarizes it so completely the user never visits.
That last one is the killer. You get the visibility, but none of the traffic, leads, or revenue.
Chatbot results are similar to Search, Meta still runs on engagement signals, and TikTok encourages more movie tickets than TV ads
It’s like looking in a mirror.
ChatGPT ads look a lot like Google Search: According to Sensor Tower’s breakdown, retail and grocery dominate ChatGPT ad placements.
That’s the same categories that rule Search, meaning users are bringing their shopping intent to AI chatbots.
If you’re already running Search campaigns, your existing audience and keyword logic may transfer more cleanly to ChatGPT ads than you’d expect.
Meanwhile, Meta is keeping it classic: Despite all the LLM hype, Meta’s CFO confirmed its $160B ads engine runs on engagement signals, not AI reasoning.
Real LLM integration is pushed to 2027 at the earliest. The recent 7% organic content lift on Facebook is thanks to good old-fashioned ranking upgrades.
This means your Meta strategy doesn’t need an AI overhaul just yet. Doubling down on engagement-driving creative is still the right move. For now.
And TikTok just made a compelling case for film marketers: New TikTok x Samba research found that:
- TikTok ads drove a 172% lift in ticket purchase rates
- They saw a $1.70 incremental ROAS, over 15x more efficient than linear TV
- 60% of purchases came from audiences who never saw a TV ad
This is a strong sign to prioritize TikTok-native creative over repurposed TV spots. Especially if you’re in entertainment.

How to track AI visibility with Bing (and a little tip to do it within Search Console, too)

It’s been a long two years of you dabbling with AI and wondering if your content is actually being fed to the machines or just acting as fodder.
Well, Microsoft finally turned the lights on.
As Tarek Reslan points out, Bing Webmaster Tools recently introduced AI performance reporting, and you are welcome to be cautiously optimistic…
You can now see total citations, which pages are being used to ground AI answers, and the specific queries triggering those retrievals. This is a goldmine of first-party data.
However, there is a glaring hole: Click data. You know you’re being cited, but you have no idea if anyone is actually clicking through to your site.
SEO and GEO are actually best friends: Your most-cited pages in Bing AI are the ones that already rank in the top five of organic search.
If you’re building high-quality, well-researched content that ranks well on Google, you’re already doing the heavy lifting for AI visibility.
Don’t ignore the Bing-to-Google gap: While this reporting is great, you have to remember that Bing is still the smaller fish in the search pond.
What happens in Bing’s AI doesn’t perfectly mirror Google’s AI Overviews or ChatGPT.
Use the grounding queries from Bing as a starting point, then manually test them on other platforms. If you aren’t showing up there, look at who is and reverse-engineer their success.
The long-tail workaround: There’s no AI report yet, but by using a regex filter in Google Search Console to isolate queries with seven or more words, you can find the natural language searches that mimic how people actually talk to LLMs.
Pages ranking for these long-tail queries are your prime candidates for AI citations across the web.
Having real metrics is exciting, but don’t let citation hunting distract you from the metrics that actually get the job done.
Until you get click-through data, treat these reports as a directional compass, not the destination.
Keep your SEO foundation strong, keep your content reference-worthy, and let the algorithms do the rest.
Make selling feel like your second nature

Selling feels hard when you try to force it. It feels easy when you align with human nature.
The best brands don’t nag you to buy—they trigger the psychological “yes” button already inside your head.
Psychology of Marketing reveals these hidden triggers. Every Thursday, we break down one ethical strategy that lowers resistance and makes buying the natural choice.
How can AI close the tactile gap in e-commerce?
Love it, hate it, AI is becoming a shopping wingman.
And shoppers are increasingly looking for “smart” features that remove the guesswork from their digital shopping carts.

The trends are interesting:
- The most wanted feature is virtual try-on (77%), as shoppers want to see how that hat looks before they commit.
- 76% want an AI-powered shopping assistant to help them navigate choices.
- 69% are interested in automatic reordering, showing a high demand for “set it and forget it” convenience.
What this means: Online shopping still has a sensory problem. But when you offer virtual try-ons and AR experiences, you’re reducing the psychological risk of a bad buy.
On top of that, providing convenience like automatic reordering or adding an AI assistant can help you overcome the biggest hurdles during the consideration stage.

META: Under pressure from a European Commission investigation, Meta is temporarily opening WhatsApp’s Business API to third-party AI chatbots in Europe for 12 months. The catch? Providers will pay per message, ranging from €0.05 to €0.13, making high-volume AI conversations potentially very expensive for competitors.
TIKTOK: After becoming majority US-owned, TikTok saw daily active users temporarily drop from 92M to roughly 86-88M, per SimilarWeb. Advertiser confidence is shaky too, with TikTok-heavy campaigns falling 48% YoY. The bigger threat? If users believe the feed is politically manipulated, no algorithm fix will save it.
SNAPCHAT: With IPL season approaching, Snapchat is launching Cricket in a Snap, an ad offering built around AR lenses, live score integrations, and creator campaigns. Over 90% of its 250M Indian users are already second-screening during matches, so why interrupt the conversation when you can join it?
GOOGLE: A quick flag for you motorheads: Google added a Build to order availability attribute to Vehicle ads in the Merchant Center. Use the wrong value and your listings get rejected. If you run Vehicle ads, audit your availability attributes now and not let this tank your reach.
