Three tactics to use GPT agent mode for marketers

You’re probably spending a third of your time on tasks ready to be automated. Stuff like manual data entry and repetitive reporting… We get it.

Here’s the good news. Just put GPT’s agent mode to work and let it run in the background. Or other “agents” in the future.

These are three tactics to get you started right away with turning wasted hours into tangible results.

01

Cut your competitive research hours into minutes

Yeah, you have to check on your competition, we know. And that’s one of the things a GPT agent can do for you while you’re out for lunch…

Digging through the Meta Ad Library, checking prices, tracking new promotions…

Set up an agent once, and every week, it will serve you a ready-made summary with info like: who changed prices, what new creatives they’re testing, and what they’re posting on social media.

Or even other things, just ask. Here’s how:

1) Set your targets: List 3-5 key competitors you want on your radar.

2) Define what to track: List the specific metrics you care about, like price changes for key products, new items in their offer, active promotions, titles of the latest blog posts, or new creatives in the Meta Ad Library.

3) Create a precise prompt: Give the agent exact instructions to deliver an analysis, not just raw data. For example:

“For [competitor 1] and [competitor 2], perform the following tasks:

a) Website Analysis: Go to their websites (provide the URLs to the agent) and check the current product prices. Identify if any new products have been added to the offer. How many products are currently on promotion? What is the current average purchase price?

b) Content Analysis: Check their blog and list the titles of all new articles published in the last 7 days.

c)Ad Analysis: Scan their Meta Ad Library profile and list new ads and their main headlines.

Report Format: Fill out the attached spreadsheet. In the “Key Changes” column, note what is different from last week’s data (e.g., “Product A price dropped by 10%,” “2 new video ads added”). Also, provide a general summary with key takeaways.”

A July 2025 report on 100 ChatGPT agent mode implementations found that the average time savings reached 145 hours per month. This included competitive analysis, which took just 25 minutes instead of the manual 6 hours.

02

Audits on autopilot

Have an agent scan your content monthly for consistency and effectiveness. Instead of hiring an outside team for every analysis, configure an agent to review your landing pages, blog posts, and social media feeds during the first week of the month.

It will check for brand guideline compliance, outdated information, and potential errors. Or any other things you want it to check for, of course.

Here’s an example to get you started:

1) Gather your assets: Compile a list of your URLs for analysis or prepare them in a spreadsheet.

2) Teach the agent the rules: Paste in your audit checklist. It should include simple commands. For example:

  • Confirm the shopping cart is working and transactions can be completed.
  • Make sure all CTAs link to the right place.
  • Check if all meta titles and meta descriptions are filled out.
  • Verify the promo terms and conditions link isn’t broken.
  • Compare ad CTR week-over-week—flag the biggest increases and decreases.

Or other things that might be more relevant for you. And maybe you want a dedicated auditor for your website, another for your email marketing, one for paid social…

According to a July 2025 report, automated, AI-powered content audits allow scanning an entire repository of pages within a week, analyzing metrics like page views, engagement, duplicates, internal links, and conversions. A process that previously took a month could now be done in days.

03

Get your holiday content calendar streamlined

If there’s something that we’re not good at, it’s remembering stuff… Especially the holidays we could build campaigns around.

But you can have an agent scan upcoming holidays, industry events, trends, and more. Then tell it to provide you with relevant topics and campaign ideas.

Do this once a quarter… Or whatever frequency works best for you.

How to set it up:

1) Feed the agent a holiday calendar: Give it a list of holidays relevant for your industry and key seasonal dates. You can use things like HubSpot’s 2025 Marketing Calendar, or your own version tailored to your business, which is actually recommended.

2) Set up your prompt:

“Build a detailed list of topics and campaigns for Q4 2025, including seasonal opportunities, suggested formats, CTAs, and recommended publishing dates for our blog.”

You’ll get back a list broken down by week or month, complete with:

  • Post titles and descriptions.
  • Graphic or video suggestions.
  • Recommended hashtags.
  • CTA proposals.
  • Suggested distribution channels.

Launch your first agent to reclaim your time

If you want to see just how much your daily grind can change, start with one simple implementation—and let an agent do the rest. Each of these tactics is a quick test that delivers measurable results in weeks, not months.

Don’t wait for the competition to beat you to automation. See for yourself how much you stand to gain when you let tasks run in the background. Launch your first process today and track how many hours you reclaim in the first month.

Quick note: You’ll need a Plus or Pro subscription for ChatGPT to use Agent Mode. To get started, just click the plus icon next to the chat window and select “Agent Mode.”

Or, things move so quickly that by the time you read this, other tools will have their own versions of Agent Mode.
