Three tactics we took away from Google I/O 2026

We’ve been closely following Google I/O 2026 last weekend.

And it wasn’t just another conference reminding us that “AI will change everything.”

Instead, here’s what’s actually worth paying attention: Google showed off tools that can legitimately shorten your path from an idea to a ready-to-launch campaign.

Faster video editing. Models that handle the operational grind. Landing pages that are starting to look a lot like a chat conversation.

For marketers who track ROI instead of likes, only one thing matters: how to use these updates to get from brief to a converting campaign before your competitors even realize what happened.

Here are our three tactics from Google I/O 2026.

01

Gemini Omni: Your rapid video testing lab

Your videos often fail because you’ve made just one version.

That’s just one hook and one product shoot. A single attempt to capture your audience’s attention.

That’s rarely enough, especially when creatives on Meta, TikTok, or YouTube burn out faster than your testing budget.

But with the recently released Gemini Omni, you can turn video into an editable document rather than a locked .mp4.

What you can do: Swap out the actor, speed up the cuts, or drop your product into ten different contexts.

It’s not a magic “make me viral” button. It’s our private lab for testing 20 directions at once before we put serious money behind a single winning variant.

Do it now:

  • Pick one video currently running in your ad campaigns.
  • Prepare a few different scenarios that change specific parts of the footage.
  • Use simple descriptive commands in Omni Flash, for example: “Change the can packaging to the product in the attached image.”
  • Test elements separately: Isolate the hook, product shot, editing pace, and final CTA. Don’t change everything at once.
  • Evaluate your 3-second hold rate, CPV, and CPC, not just CTR.

Pro tip: Google Flow is now available as an agent that guides you through the entire video creation process: from the brief, to the storyboard, to subsequent scene iterations.

Flow acts less like a simple generator and more like a technical workflow for AI video production.

02

Automate your video ad analysis with Flash

Gemini 2.5 Flash isn’t interesting just because it “can analyze video”. Pro models do that too.

The difference is that Flash is built for volume. Bulk processing of hooks, UGC clips, first 3-second segments, CTAs, and platform-specific variants.

Flash lets you churn through 100 raw creator videos and surface the 10 with the highest scaling potential: all before your media buyer finishes brewing their coffee.

Step by step:

  • Create a standardized prompt covering your product, target audience, platform, objective, brand tone, and grading criteria.
  • Use our prompt as a skeleton: You are a senior performance creative strategist specializing in video ad analysis, UGC, short-form video, TikTok Ads, Meta Ads, YouTube Shorts, and Reels. Your task is to analyze the uploaded video creative from a performance marketing perspective: hook quality, editing pace, message clarity, UGC credibility, product visibility, CTA strength, and scaling potential.[read more…]
  • Analyze the first 3 seconds ruthlessly. Does the hook stop the scroll? Is the core problem obvious? Does the viewer know immediately why they should keep watching?
  • Score each creative on a 1–10 scale for hook, pacing, product reveal, UGC credibility, and CTA clarity.
  • Tag every video with actionable labels like “strong hook,” “slow intro,” “product too late,” “weak CTA,” or “needs faster edit.”
  • Feed your campaign results — CTR, hook rate, hold rate, CPC, CPA, and ROAS, back into Flash to spot patterns and decide exactly what to shoot next.

Fact: Google just proved that AI is no longer a product add-on, but the foundational layer of their entire ecosystem.

They now process over 3.2 quadrillion tokens per month, a massive 7x increase year-over-year.

03

Prototype in Stitch, skip the design brief

Stop sending your designer a pile of adjectives in an email. Show them a working prototype instead.

After Google I/O 2026, Stitch stopped being a simple screen generator. It now acts more like a live design environment where AI builds, tweaks, and tests the interface right in front of you.

The biggest change? You don’t have to wait for a finished mockup or start from scratch.

You can open with a prompt, voice input, design files, a page snippet, or your own codebase.

Stitch streams the design onto the canvas, letting you click specific elements and change them without breaking the entire layout.

For us, this means saving days of back-and-forth revisions that never should have happened in the first place.

Playbook:

  • Start with one page goal. A lead, a purchase, a demo, or a signup. Don’t mix multiple actions at once.
  • Leverage Streaming Design. Watch Stitch build the landing page live and course-correct immediately before the design goes too far off track.
  • Edit sections, not the whole page. Click the hero, CTA, pricing table, or testimonial and ask the AI to change just that specific element.
  • Upload your DESIGN.md or brand assets. Colors, fonts, spacing, screenshots, and tone of voice will help maintain a cohesive identity. This ensures every subsequent AI-generated page automatically matches your branding, eliminating the dreaded “brand drift.” [Example]
  • Test motion and interactions. Check hover states, clicks, section layouts, and basic navigation before handing the project off for coding.

Pro tip: Codebase sync is the feature that turns Stitch from a toy into a professional production tool. Thanks to MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, your Stitch project can sync directly with your own code repository — in Claude Code or Cursor, for example. A change in your Stitch design can automatically reflect in your app’s code, and vice versa.

Here’s an example of a page generated by Stitch using a professional design file.

TL;DR

Google I/O 2026 made one thing crystal clear: AI in marketing is evolving into a high-speed system for testing, analyzing, and assembling your campaigns.

Let’s revisit the key features:

  • Gemini Omni turns video into an editable document. Instead of praying for your single version to work, you can test dozens of hooks and CTAs at once.
  • Gemini 2.5 Flash acts as an operational filter. It weeds out the underperformers in seconds and surfaces the assets with the highest ROI potential — before you spend a single dollar on ad testing.
  • Stitch accelerates your path from a raw idea to a first landing page. With the Stitch Agent, you can tweak your design live on the canvas before ever handing a brief to your designer.

Your benefit? You can start playing around with these right away, before your competitors catch up. And you’ll be playing a different game entirely.
