Google Shopping will rank you higher if you provide an “excellent customer experience”
Google has emailed Merchant Center users, stating that if you provide an “excellent customer experience,” they will boost your Google Shopping rankings.
How Google will measure excellent customer experience: By using data. And then some more data. Google will track the customer experience you provide in several areas, including shipping speed, return cost, shipping cost, and return window.
It will then assign a rating to each of those metrics, ranging from “Excellent” to “Opportunity” (which is a nice way of saying “you can’t do worse than this”).
No penalties: Google also said they won’t penalize you if you go below a certain level of customer experience. But if 5 of your competitors rank “excellent” on all metrics compared to you, they’ll probably rank higher.

Here are the ads that won the Super Bowl, according to YouTube
One week ago we featured an unofficial list of the most viewed ads on YouTube during the Super Bowl.
We now have the official YouTube list, which looks a bit different but not too much. Here’s who won:
- Amazon got the first spot with their Scarlett Johansson ad.
- A Jurassic Park ad from Universal Pictures came in second.
- Hyundai, Marvel Entertainment, and Nissan finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
Why we care: Inspiration. If you want to get your creative juices flowing for your own ads, Super Bowl commercials are a good place to start, even if you can’t replicate the production style of them.

Why Google rewrites your titles and how to avoid it
According to this study by Zippy, Google rewrites nearly 61% of page titles in search results. It’s a practice that the search engine giant started years ago. Most of the time, it does it for a good reason. And they also documented why they do it.
It can still be annoying to have your title rewritten. But Cyrus Shepard compiled 10 of the most common scenarios in which Google is likely to rewrite your titles along with advice for avoiding this rewrite.
Length is the most common reason for Google to rewrite titles: Usually, Google changes the length to make the title fit the device. The sweet spot to prevent rewriting is 51-60 characters.
Match the title tag to the H1 tag: When reformulating your title, Google starts with your HTML title tag, but sometimes they might use your H1 heading. That’s why matching your H1 to your title typically drops the chances of rewriting.
Don’t break titles: “Best TVs 2022 – Reviewed by Experts (& User Tested)”. Google is much more likely to rewrite titles broken up into different sections.
If you need to break the title, use the right separator. Google prefers the dash “-”. And it usually picks parenthetical text over brackets.
Use keywords that closely match how users find your page in Google search results.
Avoid repeating keywords in the title: Google will likely rewrite your title if it repeats even a single word. Try to use synonyms.
Avoid irrelevant boilerplate text: By itself, boilerplate isn’t bad, but Google rewrites it if it’s irrelevant.
Make sure that every title is unique, and that the text is complete.
Keep your titles up to date: Everytime you update your content, you should do the same with your title as well.
Beyond following these guidelines, make sure you’re aware when Google rewrites one of your titles so you can better otptimize them.

The anatomy of a viral Twitter thread
If you’ve seen enough “🧵” and “👇” emojis to last a thousand lifetimes, we’re right there with ‘ya.
But, there’s a reason you see so many threads on Twitter: Done right, you can amass a following worth hundreds of thousands, or even millions, of dollars. Here’s how to write a great one.
For starters, your first tweet needs to be killer. Writing a great thread is like writing advertising headlines––if you don’t have an excellent start, nobody will read the rest. Many bad threads go viral because the first tweet is stellar.
Use this framework for your first tweet:
Counter-intuitive statement -> Quick evidence -> Cliffhanger
For a great example, look at this first tweet from Julian Shapiro. This simple formula above makes up ~90% of viral twitter threads, especially in the marketing space. Use it to get ahead.
After your first tweet, each reply should have one succinct idea. Keep people interested. Each tweet in your thread should communicate one, specific idea. Sahil Bloom does this well.
Finally, include a CTA. You’d be surprised how many people will click on a promotional link after reading your thread. Follow Sahil Bloom’s example here and include a link to something you want to promote at the end.
Now, get out there and go viral on Twitter (without the emojis overload, for crying out loud).
ROUNDING UP THE STACK
INFLUENCER MARKETING: Don’t gamble on influencers… The right creator gives you the right audience that is already in line with your brand’s value. Upfluence helped OMEGA, Mapiful, KEEN, and 1600+ brands find the perfect creators to match their brands characteristics…and drive sales! Find your match here.*
AMAZON: Don’t mess with Amazon. Especially when what you do could make Amazon look less trustworthy. The e-commerce marketplace is suing two companies that allegedly provide fake reviews. It’s not the first time Amazon goes after fake reviews.
PPC: It’s not just you. Over 70% of PPC marketers agreed that Google Search ad costs have risen since last year. But what didn’t go up in price in the last 12 months, right?
SNAP: You can finally change your Snapchat username. The only thing that could beat this news is if Twitter finally adds an edit button for their tweets for everyone.
PPC: Gambling ads have been a common news topic for Google Ads in recent months. There’s another update coming with Google changing some policies for running gambling ads in India.

The Terminator challenges you to a slap fight
Will you accept?
Arnold Schwarzenegger has teamed up with YouTuber Logan Paul to host a slap fighting tournament.
A slap fighting tournament? It looks exactly like it sounds – a bunch of people trying to slap the lights out of each other.
The tournament is organized by a slap-fighting promoter (yes, this is an actual role) based in Poland called PunchDown.
To get a clearer idea of this, just have a look at their promo video. How do you like it? Does it slap?
