Pinterest reveals summer travel trends, Threads reaches a new milestone

The days are getting longer and the air is feeling warmer. Which can only mean one thing…

It’s travel season: Pinterest’s Summer 2024 Travel Report may come in handy if you use the platform and want to plan summer campaigns.

Here are some of the more interesting insights:

  • 1B travel searches and 10B travel saves were made in one year.
  • 8 out of 10 users head to Pinterest to plan their trips.
  • Searches for “travel vision board” increased by 210%, and “packing guide” has increased by 480% since last year.

Also, searches for adventure-related activities, quiet life traveling, and mysterious places have seen huge surges.

And that’s not even getting into other travel-related queries, like outfits, snacks, and packing. Sounds like a lot of ad opportunities to us…

Back to reality: Sorry to interrupt your vacation daydreams, but Threads officially has more daily users in the US than X.

Threads hit 28M, while X sits around 22M. X still has Threads beat when it comes to monthly active users, though.

Also good things to know if you use either platform, or want to blend new ad channels into the mix.
