The most downloaded apps in April

Roll up, roll up. It’s time for April’s most downloaded apps.

And guess what’s on top: Instagram. The app was downloaded on about 55M devices around the world. Facebook came in second with 48M.

Despite the threat of a US ban, TikTok took the third spot overall and topped the iOS chart.

WhatsApp and Telegram made it into the top five.

Meanwhile, Threads fell all the way down to 10th place after previously holding 6th, which is now held by CapCut.

Temu was the 7th most downloaded app, and surprisingly, JioCinema, a streaming app from India, was the 9th.

All useful news if you’re running Meta Ads, posting on TikTok, or looking to expand your e-commerce channels.

It’s less great if you’ve been trying to gain momentum on Threads. But at the end of the day, these reports are just a chance to read the room, not throw in the towel.
