Comments get more weight, and Reddit reveals insights into discovery, buying, and traffic

The line between “comments” and “content” is blurring.

Reddit now lets you turn comments into posts, giving your wittiest replies a second life and more visibility.

Real-time comment stats are also live, letting you track upvotes, replies, shares, and more to see what’s resonating.

And if you accidentally swipe away mid-braindump, drafts will now auto-save. Happens to us all the time…

To buy, or not to buy: Also, Reddit wants you to know just how much influence it has on shopping behavior.

Its new report claims 88% of US social media users lean on Reddit—according to Redditt itself—to help make purchase decisions, and many search Reddit directly via Google Search, or by slapping “Reddit” into their queries.

That trust, coupled with Reddit’s long content shelf life, is driving a surge in brand-related views months or even years later.

Even minimal brand participation, like one post or three comments a week, can measurably boost sentiment.

That rising influence extends to media, too: Reddit is becoming a key traffic driver for top publishers. In April, Google Search referrals increased by 100% year over year. Whoa.

So many reasons to take this crazy platform more seriously, huh?

Classic misdirection. Look over here at the shiny thing, not at your ad settings. The bad news first: Meta is removing the Placements option from ad sets, with platform exclusions going too. Meta didn’t say when it comes to action. But when it does, you can’t keep ads out of Facebook search results, in-stream Reels,…
