AI might be sending more traffic your way than you think.
Ahrefs discovered that 63% of websites get at least a little bit of traffic from chatbots, 98% of which comes from just three: ChatGPT (50%), Perplexity (30%), and Gemini (18%).
On average, chatbots account for 0.17% of visitors and 0.12% of views, but top sites see up to 6% of their traffic from AI—and that number is only going up.
What about the little guy? Small websites get the biggest boost from AI, which could be an interesting opportunity if you’re not a major brand pulling lots of traffic and visits.
Not to let you down, but… Google now requires JavaScript for rendering search results.
Yes, this makes it harder for SEO tools to track keyword rankings.
And while it helps block bots, reduce spam, and boost security, it also adds cost, complexity, and potential data accuracy issues. Ugh.
So if you’re using rank traffic software, beware. Disruptions are incoming…
