New ad opportunities just dropped on Snap and TikTok

According to Snap, it’s seeing “increased demand” for its ad tools.

So to keep the momentum going, the platform is serving up a banquet of updates.

Here’s what’s new:

  • New augmented reality (AR) Extensions allow you to add Lenses and Filters to your ads. You can also use the new AR tools to create your own unique effects and “try-on experiences.”
  • Snap Sports Network is a new “unconventional” sports channel, and it comes with ad space and influencer opportunities.
  • Snap Nation opens the door to music experiences with things like exclusive behind the scenes content. Another influencer opportunity.

… Among other things. All good to know about if you’re using the platform.

Guess who else has been busy: TikTok updated its Pulse Premier with three new ad slots so you can display your ads alongside more favorable content and specific moments.

And by “moments,” TikTok means cultural and seasonal trends, and even major media events like shows and sports.

Metrics or it didn’t happen: Also, TikTok is improving its Audience Measurement tools by partnering with iSpot.tv and Nielsen ONE Ads.

So technically, you should have more accuracy and insight into your ad performance.

TikTok claims “Pulse Premier” has increased ad recall by 9.8% and guarantees ad placement next to the top 4% of trending videos.

Not bad. And probably worth testing while the platform is still around…
