Deliverability goes bye-bye: Yep, Google won’t deliver your emails to desired recipients unless you validate your profile to prevent malicious attackers from hiding in your “midst.”
- Authenticate your email by following best practices you can find here.
- Enable easy unsubscription by providing a one-click unsubscribe button and by processing the same request within two days.
- Ensure that you’re sending wanted email, making sure users don’t list your emails as spam and keeping your spam rate below 0.3%.
If you’ve done the above already, then you will probably be fine.
When it all starts: Google will start enforcing the new policy in February 2024, so you have pretty much an entire quarter to set everything up, if you haven’t already.
The company did say industry partners like Yahoo will be doing the same, just so you know.
