Has Apple gone stale?

It’s not as fresh as it used to be: Turns out Apple Podcasts has fallen to third place behind YouTube and Spotify.

A study by Cumulus Media and Signal Hill Insights found that in the US, 31% of users prefer YouTube, 21% choose Spotify, and only 12% opt for Apple Podcasts.

Pretty interesting, considering the app comes preinstalled for all Apple devices…

Last week we mentioned that Apple Podcasts is now available on the web for the first time, which could increase its user base. Hopefully.

So if you’re promoting podcasts or running ads on them, you might want to consider trying other platforms instead of relying solely on Apple.
