Finally—something for brands that prefer images and text over short-form-video

TikTok’s Notes app is one step closer to release.

To build the hype, TikTok is encouraging users to post photos instead of videos.

Once they do, a pop-up appears asking if they’re cool with those photos being published on Notes once it launches.

Yes, it’s essentially TikTok’s version of Instagram.

But if your brand is more about static images than short-form videos, you might want to consider testing this out because it could give you more organic reach, at least for a time.

Meanwhile on Threads, the platform’s API is on its way and will allow the user to repost their Threads to other platforms, send real-time notifications when a post action occurs, and view post analytics.

Currently, only a few partners have access to the beta version, but mark your calendar, because the end of June is looking like the release date.

If you’re a yapper instead of a snapper, or you have a backlog of X threads you’d like to distribute on other platforms, you may want to try the API when it comes out.
